After the Fall of the Soviet Empire

I really enjoyed perusing the photos of Eric Lusito, who visited many of the abandoned military bases of the Soviet Empire after the fall of communism in the area.  I love photos of abandoned places, and as these also include a bit of meaningful history, I love them all the more.

On a side note, doesn’t this place look like the room where they trained in The Men Who Stare at Goats?

Apple iPad…better late than never.

When I say “better late than never”, I’m mostly referring to myself, who completely forgot to post anything about the announcement and fallout of the iPad, Apple’s attempt at a tablet based computer.  In my opinion, on first glance it looks more like a Nook or a giant iPhone than a tablet, but that’s just me.  Nonetheless, you can check it out in all of it’s positive spin on Apple’s website, or catch the other side of the story over at the Guardian.

My Next Toy – The Tea Sub

I am somewhat of a tea connoisseur, and while this might be a slap in the face to other connoisseurs who would think this takes away from the mystique of the beverage, but I personally find it brilliant.  I also like that it’s yellow.

The Performance Book Caddy Scares Me

Performance Bicycle has turned the tables on all those bikers that used to worry about pedestrians and motor vehicles.  Now, bikers have to worry about each other too.  I’m not sure how this is supposed to be safe or reasonable, but at least you’ll be able to keep up with your reading.
